"It was The Great Change that made our
task necessary, of course. When the Gods roamed freely across the new-formed earth and sky, Balekrun The Mediator sat in his throne atop the world's summit, observing the realm he and his kin had fashioned. Nothing escaped his notice. All the movements of beings and beasts were known to him. Thus he maintained balance and order. However, when Balekrun departed with the other Gods at the time of The Great Change, he entrusted his legacy THE Book of Lore to the First Interpreter. All the past, present, and future turning points of eternity are noted in The Book. The fates of empires, the triumphs and tragedies of man, and the time of the world's end can be found in its pages. It is said that the wheel of history revolves only when Balekrun turns the pages of his Book of Lore. That's why we record the stories of the world in our books so The Mediator will find the Library filled when he returns." |
